BRINGING UNDERDOGS MALAYSIA TO THE WORLD.

As the game draws nearer.. Only 1 and a half months to go. Shit, its fast. We started training like a dog. How an Underdog trains. Well our mission is to experience the tournament and to relive the good old days. For the newer players, its an opportunity to experience the adrenaline rush of how a real tournament is like. We finally got our goalkeeper, Leon. Thank god. I am proud to say we are more or less ready for Singapore.

Representing and being the only team in Malaysia at the moment in the Asia Pacific Cup, we have nothing to loose. Great to see the whole team hyped up into looking for sponsorships and giving in their input in helping the team grow. Keep it up guys,

Most of us need to push their bodies to the max. To see how far you can go. Then you will see the improvements and benefits coming your way. Since training now has added up to 3 days: Tuesday, Friday and Sunday nights, its our chance to excel in this sport.

The schedule for the Tournament in Singapore in such: we leave on Tuesday morning or afternoon and return on Saturday. Let me know how many wanna take the coach. WE are looking at Aeroline Coach. Its RM80 one way. Better to buy 2 ways because its cheaper instead of buying the ticket from Singapore. Plus it has a café in the bus.

We are also waiting for the confirmation from APC on the tournament for us to confirm the trip. Anyhow we are still ready for the game. The details on the tournament package of SD$200 is as per below:

Great Value for players - The following package has been organized by us to ensure that the cost is kept low as such encouraging more teams from Asia and beyond!

For only SG $200, each player will get accommodation, airport transfers, registration and the players sponsored merchandise.

Daily Expenses LOW! - Besides, players will be able to save heaps on the daily expenses compared to other Countries. A taxi from the Hotel to the rink is less tha $4.00!!, (can walk it). A meal at a hawker center $3-5, pizza $20, McDonalds meal under $6, and water at $1.20 a bottle

The official Hotel for APC for the 3rd year is the Peninsular, hey just ask the guys from Great Britain and they'll tell you why they like to stay there!.

Twin Share accommodation
- Breakfast Included Daily Newspaper
- Free use of swimming pool and gym
- Inclusive of 5% Gst, 1% css and 10% service

Sunday Hockey @ 10 Sept 2006

the day started off with the regular sunday group. after the Speedzone party + celebrating my 26th Bday, i have no idea how i managed to wake up for hockey.. anyway we had small drills to kick things off. Guess we all are greatly looking forward to Singapore. Even if we don't win anything, well its the exposure and the experience we search. Also the feeling of reliving our dreams. Welcome to our 2 new hockey players. Chin & We who joined team underdogs. Seems that many have improved amazingly.

Many thanks to lina for my new birthday present: CCM Hockey Skates... I make the Flash look like a turtle.. hahaha... Its super fast man.

Also to our 2 little devils, Brian & Junior who just cant keep their cool at each other.. guess its healthy competition.. hahaha.. these two chili padi keep on getting on each others nerves like 'cow & Chicken'.. but they're cool. guess when we were little we were just like them.

So enjoy the pictures. This sunday, 17th Sept. there will be no hockey because we will be joining the Terry FOx run to help raise money for the needy. so Skate smart.

uD 1995/96

The past of the underdogs. Started 12 Years ago at the PJ Arena opposite Assunta Hospital. The name Underdogs was choosen because we were a fresh new team entering a Roller Hockey tournament for the first time ever. All players were new and young at that time.

Underdogs has a double meaning to that name. un‧der‧dog  [uhn-der-dawg, -dog] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
1 One that is expected to lose a contest or struggle, as in sports or politics.
2 One that is at a disadvantage.
[Origin: 1875–80, American; under- + dog1]

So that’s how we came up with that name.

The Players of that time in the 1st Roller Hockey tournament in 1995 was,
Craig Lee was the captain of the team, Kevin Danker, Andy, Nora, Jarrod, Ramesh, Jeremy, Ah Chai, Azlan, Adrian Chow, Ridzwan and manager, Uncle John Lee. After winning the under 15 tournament, the team grew larger and continued winning other tournaments. With the help of Uncle John and the other parents, Underdogs was then sponsored by many companies such as French Sports brand: Le Coq Sportif, Rollerblade, Agip Oils, Milo, Slazenger, GS Gill and Dunlop.

Underdogs then entered other categories such as Under 18 and the open category which we had lots of experience gained.

That’s all so far I can remember not forgetting the field trips and the demo competitions all around Malaysia.

Underdogs… A name, A Team, A Friendship, A Vision that will live Forever.
